Silky Terriers are happy living in small apartments or big rambling houses, the city or a country setting on a farm or ranch. They are very versatile little guys. Over the years I've had more than one fellow purchase a Silky Terrier puppy "for the wife" because he doesn't want anything to do with this "toy" dog because he's more of a "big dog person".
