I first became interested in the Silky Terrier when my sister purchased a little female she named Stacy. I ultimately fell in love with the breed because of Stacy’s intelligence and total devotion to my sister.
This feisty little breed has captivated my heart and soul and because of it I have been committed to the Silky Terrier breed for over twenty years. My Silkys are raised in my home and are considered part of the family. My front and back yards are both fenced which gives them a great deal of room to run and play.
My goal is to produce quality while eliminating any faults and yet stay within the AKC standards for the breed. I put a lot of thought and research into each breeding. Good temperament is a priority.
Family and friends help take part in the early socializing of puppies. I put a lot of thought and research into each breeding. The entire Lemarr family enjoys receiving photo's and updates of puppies/dogs in their new homes with their families. We take pleasure in receiving photo's and updates of our Silky Terrier puppies/dogs in their new homes with their families.
I enjoy going to dog shows and visiting with the other Silky Terrier breeders. It’s always fun to see their upcoming show puppies. Of course the Silkys enjoy going to them too.
This is also an excellent place to find breeders of quality Silky Terrier puppies for sale for those of you interested in showing. One way I socialize my puppies is to take them to the shows with me (after they have had their vaccinations). I also take them with me when I go out of town to visit relatives which is another part of being socialized because everybody wants to hold and play with them.
Here at home they have ample room to play and lots to investigate! I consider myself very fortunate because of the fact that I don’t work outside of my home. Therefore I have plenty of time to spend with the adult Silkys as well as the puppies.
